MACHI CIGAR BOX GUITARS
was founded in 2013 by a passion for the music of Massimo “Machi” Goi, Master in French horn with a diversified professional resume and a propensity for artistic experimentation.
The production of MACHI CIGAR BOX GUITARS, is characterized by the desire to make the music available and accessible to all(hence the slogan Play Easy Play), fusing musical and market skills, with a particular attention to the environment and to the practices of recycling and reuse of old and new materials, pushing to the limit the historical production of these instruments that become true works of art.
MACHI CIGAR BOX GUITARS emerged from a passion for music, willingness to experiment with non-conventional shapes, and the desire to employ eco-friendly materials. The cigar box guitar is a rudimentary string instrument. African-American laborers used to build similar instruments from scrap materials, such as empty cigar boxes, eventually leading to the birth of the delta blues slap and slide (or bottleneck).
MACHI CIGAR BOX GUITARS preserves this tradition by utilizing recycled materials; each piece is homemade and unique, as the particular imperfections of the materials create a one-off piece.
Due to the potential to customize each instrument for a specific musician, these guitars.
